Yesterday was the second and last day of the comic expo, and durring the expo, or alternatively, the comic con, I decided that I was going to make my own web comic.
There are several reasons for this. Essentialy, I can get a bunch of feedback from people on the internet and learn how to get better, and it will make me draw more and consistantly, and start getting me used to deadlines. Also, it might help get my name out there, not that I'm really expecting much fame or infamy from this webcomic, but you never know.
And just the practice, like I said, drawing consistantley, and getting used to comic panels and stuff. There is ALOT I need to improve on. Hands, clothes, backgrounds, feet, anatomy, perspective, EVERYTHING really.
Lastly, it would probably be fun.
I don't have any ideas for said webomic yet, literaly nothing, but I think thats best, start from scratch and make a new idea.
I was about to say something else.......................
Ya I can't remember what it was, oh well.
Anyways, one thing I do know that i want to do for this comic is something not usual in webcomic, well more than not usual, considering I've never seen it before, but anyway, what I want to do rather than the one page a day or week or whatever, just do a whole chapter a month, like 10-20 pages, maybe more, maybe less, but more like manga and most conventional comic books. I think it would just be easier and work with my life better, what with homework and all, it would give me more time to do it. Plus you can't get enough story out of one page, and it limits what you have to do because of the fact that you need some sort of hook for each page, like a joke or more plot or something, but with a whole chapter you can do full page spreads and just more than you can with just one page.
So ya, thats the plan, if this cold stays as bad as it is now I probably won't be going to school tomorrow, again. I'll fall behind missing two days, but I'll catch up, but the main point is it would give me more time to draw, which i wanted to do today but.........well mainly my cold prevented me, and lazyness, and other things I'm sure. But tomorrow I plan to draw and start this webcomic, doing character sketches and come up with a story, or just practice drawing, and draw the things I hate to draw and try to get better at them, I really have to improve alot, and I mean ALOT.
But things for the future look bright. Accouple days ago we had chinese food and I got 2 fortune cookies, each with two fortunes inside. I don't remember the order anymore, but they read as follows:
"You will be the guest of a gracious host within the month"
This fortune has already come true. I went to say at my brothers house durring the weekend, what with the comic con and all, so it looks promising that the other fortunes may very well come true too.
"Your lucky number for this week is nine."
Not suprisingly the first number on the back is also 9. So far nothing involving this number has happend as far as I can tell, but I think I might end up calling my webcomic Nine, even if it that title ends up making no sense to the rest of the story (kind like FLCL/Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri).
"You will soon gain something you have always desired."
This ones interesting, and i hope it comes true, even though I'm not sure what I've always desired. Super powers maybe? Or maybe a girlfriend, but who knows, only time will tell.
"Your goal will be met in two months."
I didn't know what my goal was at the time, I figured it might be something involving comics, but now I think it means I will go on to create my webcomic, or, alternitavley, it is related to school, considering grade 11 is over in 2 months or less, so maybe it means I'll end up passing physics or just get good marks in general. Or maybe I will make my webcomic AND get good grades/pass physics. Either way, the future looks bright, and these things won't happen unless I do something about it. You make your own destiny as they say.
So thats the plan. I'm determined. I'm inspired.
Now, I hope that cold medicine kicks in and starts to make me drowzy.
